story telling

I have created a new activity. I want children to create stories from images and that they are able to verbalize the story in front of us.
they will not have any restriction, their objective is créate a story.

I challenge you to try it, you have to create your own story from these images. It helps you to work on vocabulary and writing. And if you explain it you can improve your speaking too.

useful for teachers

I want to speak about this page:

It is a good page, and useful for teachers. You can generate a free printable word search with pictures and choose the text that goes in the puzzle. Generate printable dice with images or text on each face of the dice. Make board games with images, images mixed with text, or all text. Generate a free printable crossword with pictures or choose the text only option to create your puzzle. Make bingo boards with images or all text. Use the text version to create printable math mazes and math games. You can make dominoes with text on the left and images on the right. Make spelling worksheets where students select the correct spelling of words or have the students write the correct spelling. Create spelling practice sheets, free writing worksheets and tracing handouts with images of your choice. Different styles to create listening worksheets with images.

It is useful because you can create the activity and adapt it to our pupils and you can use it with computers o you can print it.

Hotpotatoes ESL

I have created a hotpotatoes activity, you can read the information now:

Name of activity. JOB VOCABULARY

Age of children and level. 9 or 10 years old, 5th primary school
Skills of English they’re going to practice (reading, writing, listening, speaking or use of English). We are going to practice reading, writing and vocabulary.
Authoring tool: I have used JQuiz, Jcross and Jcloze
Short description of the activity and how you’re going to carry it out in class.
We are going to practice this vocabulary.
Day 1: we speak about jobs, which jobs they know, which are their favorite jobs… At the end of the class we show a PowerPoint with jobs and their images.
Day 2: we speak about where they work, one by one we show the images with a projector and then we speak about what they do and where they work. At the end of the class we will give them a photocopy with all the information.
Day 3: we do the hot potatoes exercises; they know this application because we used it before. First of all they will do it alone and later they can do it by pairs or in groups.
Link 1: crossword. They could have the list of the different jobs but not the meaning; they have to look for the correct word. When they finish it they can to try to do another crossword with the same words. When everybody finishes it they sit in pairs and they will compare they works and try to do it again correctly.
Link 2: they will do it in pairs and without the papers, they have to complete the gaps, when they finish they can correct it and try to do it again with or without the paper, they choose. In this activity they practice the vocabulary and at the same time check if they know it.
Link 3: we finish with this activity they check if they know every question at the same time they do it.
